Mae Jo Baan Din

Wow, what a fantastic day we had! I am so sorry to those of you that were affected by us being so late back. In future for this field trip I think it would be better actually staying overnight at the farm to have the full adobe home and organic farming experience without time restrictions. Unfortunately we completely underestimated the travel time there and back on our big bus. Tomorrow’s trip is much closer to school, so it won’t be a problem. We will be back here by 12:15pm. I apologize for any inconvenience.

Here are some photos of us making the adobe bricks out of mud, water and rice husks.

Believe it or not it is not my intention to get your children as dirty as humanly possible for all our field trips - it just happens! Here we are actually mixing the brick mortar with our feet.

Yay! All our bricks need to do now is dry in the sun for about a week and they're ready to use for building.

I’ll post more photos later of what some of the adobe homes look like when they are completed. We really enjoyed looking around after our delicious organic lunch at the farm.

Kind regards,

Angela
